What is Zulu Core?

Core was created for go-to-market (GTM) and established brands who manage their organic marketing in house, but require tactical support to reach and convert new customers.

For GTM applications, we partner with early stage startups to define digital strategy, build launch collateral, and scale disruptive brands. Core leverages the full Zulu Stack to deliver a frictionless storefront, high-converting sales funnel, and world class media collateral.

For established and post-GTM brands, Core is hands-off subscription service that unlocks new revenue by analyzing sales funnel performance and removing buyer friction. Each quarter, data-driven analysis guide new growth initiatives, while ongoing optimization captures more shoppers, increases order frequency, and scales order values. The process delivers a frictionless buying experience and supercharges the impact of existing marketing efforts. 

Who is Zulu Core for?

Early stage and established eCommerce with an existing marketing team and organic messaging program. For go-to-market and early stage brands, a minimum of one internal marketing manager is required, although we work alongside established internal teams of 10+. 

Legacy retail transitioning to the d2c model. This expanded go-to-market version of the Core program encompasses a full scale storefront development, competitor analysis and content production phase. Enter the d2c space with a state-of-the-art platform to capture, re-activate and expand your existing customer base.

B2b environments like wealth management that require an extended consideration phase for a small volume of highly qualified leads. 

What is Zulu Core not for?

We’re not here to collaborate for tomorrow’s campaign launch. Our exposure to your organic marketing is intentionally limited. In fact, we see it as a distraction. Instead, we’re obsessed with delivering incremental growth through marketing automation – optimizing your customer experience and buyer journey at the data level.

While you consider how to launch the next product collection, manage influencers, or take advantage of a PR opportunity, we’re engineering efficient systems to sell more units and turn those new customers into passionate brand advocates that come back for more. We do not manage: Organic Email + SMS, Organic Social Media, Influencer + Ambassador Programs, Storefront Product Management, or Customer Service Management.

How long is each phase?

The Core program is two phases – Discovery and Management – each with several sub-sprints.

Discovery phase is typically one quarter: here, we conduct performance analysis, identify market opportunities, and deploy (or augment) all the resources of a high-converting funnel.

Management phase operates on a recurring quarterly basis, where testing and incremental optimization drive three high impact goals and one initiative. Every past quarter’s performance delivers intelligence and optimizations for the next. 

How do we set goals?

Goals are identified every quarter, based on performance of the past term. Core is engineered to unlock high-impact results, which become more challenging as your marketing program matures. Delivering increased efficiency every quarter requires complex data analysis from hundreds of customer touch-points. To facilitate this, our management program is simple. Rather than chase 100’s of KPI’s in a never ending data-soup, we target only the most revenue-centric outcomes: increasing customers, their purchase frequency, and the average order value.

Quarterly goal performance is communicated in your live dashboard, along with virtually every KPI we’re using to identify bottlenecks and set strategic goals. 

How do we set initiatives?

In Scope Initiatives (ISIs) take place once per quarter, and either remove friction in the customer flow, or support a specific quarterly goal. ISIs are internally identified at the conclusion of the previous quarter and communicated in the your portal.

Client identified Out of Scope Initiatives (OSIs) can be requested at any time in your portal, and can span the breath of Zulu Stack's capabilities. Most commonly, OSIs deliver strategic implementations such as subscription programs, storefront landing pages, collection launches, launch media assets, or activation builds. Zulu also identifies and pitches OSI opportunities with revenue model at the end of each quarter.

How do we communicate?

Core is designed to streamline the agency relationship, eliminating management bloat and keeping our engineers and creatives laser focused on growth.

In Discovery phase, your team supplies band background and creative direction that empower our executors to deliver within clear guidelines. The Zulu client portal guides this process with series of digital resources, strategic onboarding meetings, and creative approvals.

In Management Phase, the Core program becomes client hands-off, with live reporting to track goal performance and on-demand communications within the client portal. Stand up meetings can be requested at any time. 

What results should I expect?

Early stage and legacy retail can expect monumental revenue upside immediately on launch, as the Core program delivers a state-of-the art digital sales funnel and high converting storefront. As Core learns and evolves to meet customer needs, performance will continue to scale rapidly for the first 12-24 months.

Established commerce with an existing funnel and flow automation will see high impact results by the second quarter of management phase. In established environments, growth relies primarily on quarterly analysis and optimizations rather than the initial impact of a first time funnel.

Zulu Core pricing varies by lift and is identified following a discovery call and intake form. Core is a modular program and scales up or down to support teams where some services are managed in house or via an agency – for example, digital advertising or media production.
